Community Groups
One of the most important aspects of Jesus” ministry was the time He spent with the people He loved. He ate meals with them, prayed with them, spoke the truth to them, and met their physical and spiritual needs. As the modern day hands and feet of Jesus, we are called to love each other in the same way. Where this happens through Vintage21 Church is in our Community Groups.
What a Community Group Looks Like
Community Groups are intimate communities of people who encourage each other to become more like Jesus. Here’s what that looks like on a day-to-day basis:
Weekly Meeting
Community Groups are designed to be welcoming whether you’ve been following Jesus for most of your life or you’ve never heard of Him before. Our amazing Community Group Leaders will welcome you into their homes every week to share food with you, study the Bible with you, and pray for you. We find that the more people get involved in their Community Groups, the more they want to make sure others’ needs are met as well, and over time, the Community Group develops into a tight-knit community of people who really look out for each other.
Connection to the Larger Church and the Triangle
Community Group Leaders are trained to be tuned in to who you are as someone uniquely created by God. They will help you explore the gospel of Jesus and in time connect you with opportunities to serve in the larger church, opportunities that are a good match with who you were uniquely created to be. Your Community Group Leader will also encourage you to participate in Journey Classes, which are designed to further your spiritual growth and challenge you to consider what it might mean for you to follow Jesus. Finally, you and your Community Group will be encouraged to identify the needs of the area of the Triangle where you live and to work at meeting those needs as a Community Group.
Deep Community
As you grow closer to the people in your Community Group, you will find a group where you are welcomed, wanted, cared for, and challenged. You will also find a people of rest, where you can relax and enjoy laughing with friends who know you well. Our Community Groups are known for being amazing groups of community not just on Sundays, not just at a weekly meeting, but throughout daily life, which is exactly the picture the Bible paints for how we are to live and love together.
