Please read this note from Pastor Taylor that details the need for Community Group Coaches. Thanks!
Vintage21 Church,
As you may know, Community Groups are at the heart of all we do as a church. Leading a Community Group is a big deal and no small amount of work, and it’s VITAL that our CG Leaders be well-supported in all that they do as they seek to love you and make disciples of Jesus Christ. As such, we need more Community Group Coaches.
In the human realm, the most immediate way our CG Leaders are supported is by our CG Coaches. Coaches meet with the Leaders regularly to hear their needs, pray for them, help them diagnose and solve problems in their groups, and constantly speak the gospel into their lives as Leaders. Our Coaches are trained in how to come alongside our Leaders in a peer-to-peer / mentor relationship. Coaches learn how to actively listen to Leaders’ concerns and hearts, how to ask powerful questions that lead to great insight into what the Leader is facing, and how to guide the Leaders toward appropriate, gospel-centered answers to the array of questions and situations that a Leader faces.
Community Groups Coaches look like this:
- The purpose of their life and work stems from their identity as a beloved child of God who has been purchased at a price and is in the complete, full, and utter service of Jesus Christ, 24/7
- They have a mature and growing walk with Jesus
- They constantly seek areas of their lives that they try to control and willingly recognize Jesus’ authority over them
- They are submissive to the Bible as the Word of God
- They are Members in good standing on all six points of Membership
- They are committed to the mission of Vintage21 to reach the 1,000,000+ lost people in the Triangle with the love of Christ by being on mission with Know, Live, Build
- They are teachable, respectful of authority, and humble in demeanor
- They are well-organized and great with follow-up
- They have a sound reputation inside and outside Vintage21
- They are willing to be judged and sharpened by their Christian brothers and sisters in order to become more like Christ
If this is what your life looks like or what you desperately want your life to look like, we should talk. Please e-mail communitygroups@vintage21.com if you would be interested in pursuing this role. Thanks so much.
