Kids & Families

We believe that God created each child to know Him, enjoy Him, and fulfill his or her calling to build the local church. We believe the same is also true for each child’s parents/guardians. At each of our Sunday services V21Kids provides a safe and engaging place for kids while parents participate and invest in communal worship.

During Sundays with V21Kids, children experience biblical stories and discussions, prayer, musical worship, and positive playtime. We desire for families to learn together, and hope that all of our efforts support parents in teaching their children the good news about Jesus Christ. At V21Kids we use a curriculum called “Children Desiring God.” This curriculum is based off of the John Piper book “Desiring God.” If you would like more info about the curriculum feel free to contact us or visit the curriculum website.

At V21Kids we care about your child’s safety. Before serving on Sundays, every volunteer goes through an extensive process that includes a small group orientation with a campus pastor, a shadowing session on Sundays, as well as a background check performed by an established company. Please refer to the V21Kids Volunteer Handbook, available at the V21Kids check-in station, for more information on the screening, training, and expectations of volunteers.

Vintage21 is a church that loves children and also loves the opportunity that we have to live in community with their families. We believe that parents have been divinely appointed to raise their children and shepherd all aspects of their personhood, and we know this is not an easy task! We are serious about shepherding parents in active and growing relationships with God in which they exemplify and actively impart to their child what it means to respond to a loving God with their lives and build His Kingdom through the local church.

In our pursuit of learning truth from God’s word, we have found that the Bible is not ambiguous about raising children. God has made it clear that children are a blessing from Him, and parents are charged with the role of shaping their hearts to love and fear God. We want to be faithful with the responsibilities that God has given us, and we trust that when we are faithful with our children God will help up raise men and women that will have a God-ordained impact in our city for generations to come!

Along with this great responsibility and blessing of raising children, parents bear the same calling as every other person created by God for His purposes: to know God, enjoy God, and fulfill a calling to build the local church. We understand it can be tricky to take on all that God intends for parents and we are committed to living in active community where we can help one another. We love to provide meals for families with a “new addition” and facilitate opportunities for moms to connect with their children during the week. We provide quality childcare at all major church meetings, we have multiple community groups with childcare, we conduct parenting classes, and we have a multitude of ways parents can get involved in building God’s kingdom through this church. We’re very glad to have you with us and look forward to living in thriving community with you and your children!

Currently, the V21Kids ministry is broken up into the following age groups:

  • Infants (6 weeks to crawling): Pear Room
  • Toddlers (walking to 2 years): Banana Room
  • Pre-K (3 to 4 years): Apple Room
  • K-5th grade: Orange Room

We believe that children can handle deep truth even at a young age. Their minds are like sponges and they memorize things almost effortlessly. So, our curriculum is intended to cultivate a strong knowledge of God and to immerse kids in the Bible at an early age. Our curriculum is designed to make the character of God and the person and work of Jesus central in every story and lesson. In all classrooms we sing, pray, tell Bible stories, ask questions, and work on craft projects all according to age groups.

V21 Parents are given the opportunity to formally present their child and family to the church several times throughout the year. A Baby Dedication is a chance for the parents to publicly covenant with the church to raise their children according to God’s Word, the truth of the gospel, and through participation in gospel community. We cherish these presentations and value the opportunity it affords for parents to be public witnesses for the value of a Christ-centered family.

We have developed a Parent Handbook that reflects our policy and procedures for V21Kids. You can download it HERE and hard copies are available at the V21Kids registration desk.
