This week Tyler Jones continues his series on the Sermon on the Mount.
Matt 7:28-29 They were astonished at his teaching; for he taught them as one who had authority and not as their scribes.
Thumos--Greek: Outburst of anger
"There is a righteous anger, an anger of love."
Orgē--Greek: Entrenched anger
I Peter 2:23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
Fool--Greek: Raca
There is an anger of love, an anger that brings the ways of Christ into the world. Christ got angry when people did not have an opportunity to know Him, when justice was not done, and when people took credit for what He has done. What fires you up?
There is an anger that entrenches itself in your heart. It makes you bitter. It changes the nature of your heart. It keeps you from Christ. We live in an angry society; so, has anger crept into your heart? Will you allow Christ to change you? Will you give it over to Him?
Reconcile yourself says Jesus--reconcile with your brother/sister and reconcile with your enemy. Are you reconciled? You have the opportunity to change your world, but you must be reconciled. Again, are you reconciled? Should you go now?
