A Light in the Alley 1 Corinthians 11:1
Listen to Audio

Paul calls the Corinthian church in 11:1 to "imitate me as i imitate Christ". This is a bold claim, and one few followers of Christ are willing to make, mainly due a misunderstanding of this passage. The reality is, we are called to follow Jesus, not be Jesus. The work of the Holy Spirit in our lives is the testament to Jesus, not our own works. Join us as guest preacher Reid Monaghan of [Jacob's Well Church(http://www.jacobswellnj.org/), soon-to-be planted in Middlesex, New Jersey, brings great light to this beautiful passage of scripture.

Questions for Reflection

  • Who are people in your life or in the world that you find yourself drawn towards? People you would want to imitate.
  • What is it about their lives that provokes this in you?
  • What about Jesus do you find true, beautiful and good?
  • Where do you see him showing up in and through your community?
  • Others will imitate your life? How does this show you your need for the gospel?
  • Why is it better to live together in authenticity rather than air brushed or photo-shopped perfections?
