The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He wishes.Â
God spent 1500 years showing the Hebrew people that they could not find God on their own, that they were stuck in their sin if left alone, and that He is sovereign. This is such a good thing that God has done as He provides humanity with a history of grace. We are just like the Hebrews! If God had left us alone, we would spend great amounts of time trying to find a scapegoat. In His sovereignty, God prepared us to receive Jesus so we would not have to wallow in our sin. Spend some time considering who Christ is and thanking Him for His mercy.
The sovereignty of God is good. His sovereignty allows God to know us, heal us, love us, and provide for us. In His sovereignty, God surrounds us and “binds up the broken heart.†Spend some time thanking and praising God for His sovereignty. If you are hurt, ask God for healing. If you are broken, ask God to renew you. If you are proud, like Nebuchadnezzar, ask for humility.
The sovereignty of God allows Him to: build, gather, heal, sustain, cast down the wicked, cover the sky, supply the Earth, give unfailing Love , strengthen, grant peace, and satisfy. How will you respond to this God?
