The Psalms Psalm 146

Trust is having faith in the Trans-historic God.

Quote:

Take your human feelings, multiple them exponentially into infinity, and you will have a hint of the love of God revealed by and in Jesus Christ. God is loving us, you and me, at this moment, just as we are and not as we should be.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What things/people/items do you place your trust in? How do they fail you?

  2. Approaching God in the right manner is essential to responding to Him appropriately. We must approach God as beggars walking into the presence of the King of Kings. At the same time, we must approach God as a child sitting in the lap of his/her benevolent Father. When we understand the depth of God’s character, it is then that we learn to trust Him—He is our Father and so He helps us; He is the King where our hope resides. Spend some time learning to trust the Father.

  3. Unconditionally, there is much brokenness in each of our lives. God’s promise of trust and healing is primarily a spiritual promise. One day, we will walk in the presence of God and ALL things will be made right. The challenges in our lives allow us to see the face of God as He promises to always be near. Jesus’ words to His disciple resonate true to us today, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in the Father; trust also in me.” Use the next week asking God to reveal Himself in the face of your hurt, pain, brokenness and sin.
